The Impact of Politics and Policy on the South Asian Community in 2017

This year has been unlike any year before in politics. Please join SABA-DC for a dinner and discussion on the impact of the policy of the 115th Congress and the new administration on the South Asian community. We will discuss bills that have gone through Congress, the Administration's executive orders and other policies, and the wave of hate violence against the South Asian community.

Speakers include:

Vinita Ollapally, Regulatory Affairs Manager at American College of Surgeons

Lakshmi Sridaran, Director of National Policy and Advocacy at SAALT

Manar Waheed, American Civil Liberties Union Legislative and Advocacy Counsel

This will be an interactive discussion so please bring your questions and also if you have any expertise on any policy issue please come ready to share your thoughts.

The discussion will be moderated by Moh Sharma, SABA-DC General Director

Cost:

$25 for members; $30 for nonmembers.

This event will feature a prix-fixe menu with vegetarian options - please RSVP and pre-pay at the link below by July 25, 2017.
