SABA-DC Health Law Section dinner with Shantanu Agrawal, M.D.

Join the SABA-DC Health Law Section for a dinner and discussion with Shantanu Agrawal, MD.  Dr. Agrawal is the current President and CEO of the National Quality Forum (NQF) and the former deputy administrator and director for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ (CMS) Center for Program Integrity (CPI)

Dr. Agrawal is an expert and leader in healthcare quality and patient safety and currently leads the NQF in its efforts to improve healthcare through quality measurement.  While at CMS, Dr. Agrawal led an effort to improve the physician experience with Medicare by working to minimize the administrative tasks with which doctors contend. He also was one of the main architects of CMS' recently released strategy and action plan to address the national opioid epidemic. He has also led efforts to improve healthcare value by lowering the cost of care through the detection and prevention of waste, abuse, and fraud in the Medicare and Medicaid programs.

Dr. Agrawal previously served as CPI’s chief medical officer and was instrumental in launching new initiatives in data transparency and analytics, utilization management, assessment of novel payment models, and stewarding a major public-private partnership between CMS and private payers.

This will be an interactive discussion so please bring your questions.

Cost:

$20 for members; $35 for nonmembers.

This event will feature a prix-fixe menu with vegetarian options - please RSVP and pre-pay at the link on this page by September 5, 2017.
