  • 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM
  • District of Columbia Court of Appeals, Historic Courthouse, Second Floor, Courtroom 1, 430 E Street, NW, Washington, DC 20001

The District of Columbia Judicial Nomination Commission (the “Commission”) will hold a public forum to allow lawyers to meet and hear from members of the Commission, and from a panel of judges of the District of Columbia Court of Appeals and Superior Court of the District of Columbia who will discuss life as a judge on the District of Columbia Courts.

This public forum is designed to provide information about how judges are nominated and appointed to the District of Columbia court system, and answer questions from lawyers who contemplate making an application for a future judicial vacancy.  The Commissioners will discuss qualifications for judicial applicants, the application process, and the selection of nominees.  The judicial panel will discuss pathways to the bench, the day-to-day work of a judge, and the various divisions in which a judge might serve.

SABA-DC encourages its members to attend this public forum.
