Penn SALSA Conference: South Asians and Civil Rights

Saturday, February 13, 2021 9:46 AM | SABA DC Communications (Administrator)

Last year, we held our first annual conference last year, focusing the event on the impact South Asians have had on the law and the impact the law has had on our communities. This year, we intend to build on those conversations through our second annual conference, and keep with the historic moment that we are in. Thus, we are thrilled for this year’s conference to center South Asians and Civil Rights - how our community has impacted civil rights movements, how civil rights movements have impacted us, and importantly, solidarity between marginalized communities in the fight for equality. We are thrilled to feature our two keynote panelists, Sunu Chandy of the National Women’s Law Center and Professor Swethaa Balakrishnen from U.C. Irvine School of Law, alongside an incredible group of legal scholars and practitioners who will be in attendance. The conference is free to attend for everyone.

Attendees seeking CLE credit must register for CLE credit and make a payment via the online CLE registration link in the amount of $120.00 ($60.00 public interest/non-profit attorneys). Penn Law Alumni receive CLE credits free through The W.P. Carey Foundation’s generous commitment to Lifelong Learning.
