The Washington Lawyers’ Committee is proud to announce that the recipient of this year’s Wiley A. Branton Award will be Neal Katyal.
The Branton Award is bestowed annually upon members of the legal community whose careers embody a deep and abiding commitment to civil rights and economic justice advocacy. The former Acting Solicitor General of the United States, Neal is a partner at Hogan Lovells, and the Paul and Patricia Saunders Professor of National Security Law at Georgetown University Law Center. He has the distinction of having argued more Supreme Court cases in U.S. history than any other attorney of color, breaking the record held by Thurgood Marshall. Most recently, Neal served on the prosecution team in the trial of Derek Chauvin for the murder of George Floyd.
Our annual Branton event is a time for us to celebrate the courage of our clients and the hard work of our law firm partners and staff. This year, we will be gathering online to honor our award recipients. Please join us! Register here.
