MISmatched: An honest dialogue on sexism, colorism, casteism and other social issues

Wednesday, December 02, 2020 9:14 AM | SABA DC Communications (Administrator)

Presented by the South Asian Bar Association of North America Foundation. Did you binge watch the Netflix reality series Indian Matchmaking, but also wonder about the troubling themes of classism, sexism, colorism, and casteism that run rampant in the show? These pervasive issues have impacted South Asian culture for generations, and influence relationships and life today. Join us on December 3rd at 8 pm ET as we tackle these issues and how to fight them with many of our favorite cast members: Manisha Dass, Vyasar Ganesan, Nadia Jagessar, and Aparna Shewakramani, including a special candid discussion with Shekar Jayaraman, cast member and treasurer of SABA-Chicago.

Added bonus: After a no-holds-barred conversation and audience Q&A, all participants will be invited to join small break out rooms with a single cast member to engage in further dialogue. Your $40 registration fee is an entirely tax-deductible donation to the SABA Foundation, a non-profit organization providing support to the most vulnerable South Asians.
