Building Powerful Relationships through Networking and Crafting an Effective Elevator Pitch Discussion
PLUS Professional Headshots for SABA-DC Members!
Building professional relationships (a.k.a. networking) is a powerful tool for all attorneys. Having strong professional relationships can lead to better jobs, new clients, and critical information. Networking events are an efficient way to grow your network, and there are simple and effective techniques that can be used to develop meaningful relationships during events. The first part of our discussion will cover the five networking principles, conversation do’s and don’ts, exchanging business cards, and post-events techniques. The second part of our discussion will cover personal branding and delve into creating a 12-second elevator pitch for each participant. The discussion will be led by Lourdes Olvera-Marshall,an NYU-certified Executive Coach specializing in career development, leadership, diversity, and cross-cultural topics and an adjunct instructor at NYU School of Professional Studies, where she teaches Strategic Communication: How to Gain Influence in the Workplace and Networking with Confidence and Power. Based in New York, Ms. Olvera-Marshall is also Manager of Diversity & Inclusion at Fried Frank.
