SABA-DC Presents: A Conversation with DMV Public Interest Organization Leaders
SABA-DC’s public interest committee is proud to present: A Conversation with DMV Public Interest Organization Leaders. Our panel features leaders of local nonprofits that focus on a wide range of issues impacting members of the local South Asian community, including immigration, domestic violence, and housing. Panelists will discuss their work, highlight pro bono and volunteer opportunities within their respective organizations, and share training opportunities. If you have been thinking about engaging in volunteer or pro bono work, but you are not quite sure where to start, this will be an excellent opportunity to hear about how you can use your professional and cultural background, training, and/or language skills to make a difference in your local community by serving those in need.
Panelists: Naznin Saifi, Executive Director, Asian Pacific American Legal Resource Center (APALRC)
Lakshmi Aiyappa, Executive Director, ASHA for Women
