Sajid Ajmeri is Vice President, Corporate & Securities and Assistant Secretary at Intelsat. Mr. Ajmeri manages a team that is responsible for corporate legal issues that include: securities; financings; corporate governance (including board and committee management and NYSE compliance); mergers and acquisitions evaluation, structuring and execution; disclosure and SEC reporting; corporate compliance; corporate secretarial; real estate; procurement; and intellectual property.
Prior to his current position, Mr. Ajmeri served for nearly nine years as Intelsat’s Associate General Counsel, Corporate & Securities. During that period, he was lead in-house corporate counsel, assisting the General Counsel, on: Intelsat’s $573 million IPO and NYSE listing in 2013; Intelsat’s migration of domicile from Bermuda to Luxembourg in 2009; the $16.4 billion sale of Intelsat to BC Partners and Silver Lake in 2008; and Intelsat’s $6.4 billion merger with PanAmSat in 2006. He also served as lead in-house corporate counsel on numerous debt financing and refinancing transactions.
Prior to joining Intelsat in 2005, he served for more than seven years as Senior Corporate Securities Associate with the law firm of Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP in New York, NY. In that position, he represented financial institutions, venture capital and private equity firms, and companies in a variety of industries in debt and equity capital markets transactions, as well as some M&A and bank credit facility transactions.
Mr. Ajmeri earned a Juris Doctor Degree from New York University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Modern History from the University of Oxford.
