    The Honorable Associate Judge Leslie A. Meek of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia is seeking fall legal extern(s). The Fall 2026 legal externship requires students to be available for a minimum of one 8-hour day each Friday, and half day on Thursday afternoon. This is an unpaid position with an opportunity to earn law school credit.

    Qualified candidates must be enrolled at an accredited law school. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, a strong writer, have an interest in civil litigation, and possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to work collaboratively. A successful candidate will be expected to handle various daily tasks within chambers, including drafting judicial orders and opinions, researching and preparing legal memoranda, and assisting with administrative work as needed.

    Interested candidates should submit a completed application in PDF format combined into one attachment to JudgeMeekChambers@dcsc.gov. A completed application must include a cover letter, resume, unofficial transcript, writing sample (10 page maximum), and list of three references. All materials must be submitted electronically.

    The SEC’s Division of Enforcement is seeking talented and committed attorneys interested in complex and challenging work to help protect investors and U.S. markets. The Division of Enforcement plays an essential role in carrying out the SEC’s mission by investigating potential violations of the federal securities laws and prosecuting the Commission’s civil suits in federal courts and administrative proceedings.
