Trial Tactics - Tried & True Tips from Experienced Practitioners
APABA-DC and SABA-DC will present a panel of distinguished Asian Pacific American litigators, who will share the trial techniques they have found to be most effective. Although they bring a wealth of experience in criminal cases, they will focus on witness examination--a skill translatable to depositions, arbitrations, and hearings, even in the civil context. Topics will include tips for examining witnesses, dealing with difficult witnesses, and addressing potential jury bias relating to witnesses. The panelists will draw upon their wealth of experiences to help give texture to different scenarios that a trial lawyer may confront.
Our panel will include the following:
· Murad Hussain, Partner, Arnold & Porter Kaye Scholer LLP
· Danny Nguyen, Trial Attorney, U.S. Department of Justice, Securities and Financial Fraud Unit (Pending approval)
· Maya Song, Assistant U.S. Attorney, U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Virginia
The event will be open to the public, though RSVPs will be gathered and required beforehand. The discussions will be "off-the-record" and closed to the press. The views of the panelists are their own and are not representative in any way of the views of their employers.
