Summary
The Office of Minority and Women Inclusion (OMWI) at the SEC operates under Section 342 of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act of 2010. OMWI is responsible for all matters related to diversity in management, employment and business activities at the SEC.
Responsibilities
Typical Duties:
- Serves as Senior Policy Advisor to the OMWI Director.
- Maintains an in-depth understanding of the Director's views on matters of importance to the Office and Commission and a working knowledge of the Office's programs. Becomes involved in specific program areas in situations where the matter requires direct attention and action by the Director.
- Provides legal analysis and opinions for complex questions involving interpretation of legislation, regulations, policies and other relevant sources. Provides expert legal advice and technical expertise in the application of legal theory and principles related in the areas of employment, procurement, securities, administrative laws and diversity principles.
- Drafts reports, policies, standards, Congressional testimony and correspondence.
- Represents the SEC and OMWI as subject matter expert in meetings and at conferences with senior level officials and counsels at SEC, other federal agencies, public and private organizations, associations and educational institutions.
