The Department of Justice, Tax Division, is looking for experienced attorneys for its Civil Trial Sections. You can apply here. We need talented, adaptable litigators to represent the United States in federal district and bankruptcy courts around the country. Familiarity with tax law is helpful but not necessary. More important is your ability to plot a course through complex litigation, write a brief, examine a witness, and try the case.
The Tax Division is also seeking experienced attorneys for the Criminal Enforcement Sections. Litigation experience is required, and criminal prosecution experience is preferred. Knowledge of tax law is useful, but not required. You can learn more details about the position and apply here.
The Division is interested in attorneys who have a passion for litigation, a deep commitment to public service, and the ability to work both collaboratively and independently. Federal internal revenue laws touch everyone in the United States. It is our job to make sure those laws are enforced fully, fairly, and consistently, maintaining confidence in the integrity of the tax system and the everyday rule of law.
To do that, we seek to create a work environment and organizational culture that reflect the diversity of American society. We seek to foster the success of every employee by valuing and building upon the unique skills and experiences that each individual brings to the workplace. We welcome applicants of all ages, from all ethnic and racial backgrounds, all sexual orientations, gender identities and expressions, political affiliations, marital or parental status, religious backgrounds, with or without disabilities, and with or without military service.
Please consider applying—and please pass this message along to anyone who might be interested.
