Responsibilities

As an Equal Employment Opportunity Specialist, you will:

  • Manage EEO complaint activity processes and procedures; including but not limited to: overseeing all incoming contacts; conducting pre-complaint counseling and overseeing pre-complaint counseling conducted by contractors. Draft and prepare correspondence and forms used in connection with each step of the administrative pre-complaint process; coordinate the participation of required parties and witnesses for each step of the administrative process, as applicable; assist the parties to reach an informal resolution; draft, compile, and issue a Counselor’s Report; act as a neutral party and maintain confidentiality; and ensure Bureau compliance with EEOC’s required timeframes for each step of the administrative complaint process. Maintain annual training requirements for EEO Counselors.
  • Serve as a designated expert for EEO programs across the Bureau, and spearhead agency-wide EEO programs and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the Bureau to recommend, develop, and implement a variety of policies, action plans, programs and initiatives related to EEO across the Bureau’s workforce.
  • Develop and deliver trainings and other presentations, and draft and deliver regular communications to the Bureau workforce on important EEO topics.
  • Manage the collection, integrity, maintenance, and analysis of all EEO complaint data in all formats, including but not limited to data software platforms. Prepare drafts of required annual reports, as well as monthly reports on EEO Complaint activity. Analyze workforce data and Bureau policies and practices to assist in the conducting of barrier analyses.
  • Serve as liaison and contracting officer with EEO-contracted service providers.
