2020 SABA-DC Annual Awards - Call For Nominations

SABA-DC’s 12th Annual Public Interest Benefit Gala (and 1st ever virtual celebration) is coming up in October 2020. We will be continuing our annual tradition of recognizing outstanding members of the South Asian legal community during this annual marquee event. Public Sector Trailblazer Award: Recognizes an individual within the SABA-DC community who has demonstrated sustained excellence in public sector legal work or a specific extraordinary accomplishment in the public sector.  Public sector attorneys include those employed by the federal, state, or local governments, colleges and universities, and non-profit and not-for-profit organizations.

Private Sector Trailblazer Award: Recognizes an individual within the SABA-DC community who has demonstrated sustained excellence in private sector legal work or a specific extraordinary accomplishment in the private sector.  Private sector attorneys include those employed by for-profit law firms or those working in-house at for-profit corporations.

Community Leader Award: Recognizes an individual or organization in the DC metropolitan area who has demonstrated strong support for SABA-DC, its members, and/or the South Asian community through pro bono work or community engagement.

Rising Star Award: Recognizes a SABA-DC member, who is under the age of 40 or has been practicing for fewer than 10 years and has achieved prominence and distinction in their respective field while demonstrating a strong commitment to SABA-DC and the South Asian community.
