    The Office of the General Counsel (GC) provides legal advice to Agency leadership and staff on USAID. This position serves as a Legal Officer in the division in GC responsible for supporting USAID's Bureaus for Conflict Prevention and Stabilization (CPS), Humanitarian Assistance and Resilience, and Food Security. The incumbent assumes a broad range of responsibilities, primarily supporting the CPS Office of Transition Initiatives (CPS/OTI).

    Disability Rights Maryland (DRM) seeks a passionate, experienced attorney to lead major litigation efforts by the organization to advance the human and legal rights of people with disabilities consistent with DRM’s vision and mission. We invite applications from attorneys who have a demonstrated commitment to disability and civil rights, and who would be interested in, and capable of, contributing to innovative litigation and policy advocacy in federal and state court and courts of appeal. The Litigation Director works closely with the Executive Director and Legal Advocacy Director and collaborates with DRM’s direct service, policy and communications teams. The attorney must be an experienced litigator with a strong track-record of training, mentoring and supervising attorneys.

    The Public Justice Center is looking for a collaborative, inclusive, and hands-on leader committed to racial equity and dismantling oppressive laws, policies, and practices to serve as its next Executive Director (ED). Reporting to an active and engaged Board of Directors, the ED will directly manage a team of three senior leaders (Legal Director, Director of Development, and Director of Administration) and oversee a staff of 20.

    The ED will serve as the organization's chief executive, leading fundraiser, and external advocate. The ED will also oversee the organization's direction and strategic growth. Additionally, the ED will be a champion for the PJC team and will continue to promote its deeply collaborative and nonhierarchical culture while also advancing the organization's commitment to race equity.

    Scope: Sierra Club is seeking two Associate or Staff Attorneys to join its national legal team as litigators for Sierra Club’s Environmental Law Program. Appointment will be made at the level commensurate with an individual’s level of experience. Under the supervision of a managing and senior attorney, the associate or staff attorney would serve as a legal resource for Sierra Club campaigns; litigate environmental and energy cases, with a focus on decarbonizing the electrical grid by replacing coal and fracked gas with clean energy; help design and implement legal and advocacy strategies; and coordinate with campaign staff, coalition partners, and outside counsel.

    1) Senator Sheldon Whitehouse seeks law clerks for the fall semester to handle Judiciary Committee issues. Primary responsibilities include researching and writing legal memoranda, composing oversight letters, and other associated responsibilities. Candidates must be exceptionally strong writers, detail-oriented, able to work under tight deadlines, and able to handle multiple projects at once.      2) The Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs, Office of Chairman Senator Gary Peters, is accepting applications for its Fall 2021 Law Clerk program. The law clerk program will offer students the opportunity to gain substantive legal experience while participating in the oversight, investigations, and legislative processes. Law Clerks will assist Committee staff in conducting policy and legal research, reviewing documents, preparing for hearings and markups, and drafting letters, memoranda, and other written products. Applicants must be current law students with a demonstrated interest in public service and the legislative process. Qualified candidates will possess strong writing skills, be able to excel in a fast-paced environment, and have a basic understanding of the legislative process. Law Clerks will work under the direction of Committee staff. Law Clerks will: Participate in Congressional oversight and investigations; Conduct research on topics within the Committee’s jurisdiction; Provide technical and legal analysis of pending legislation; Assist with hearing preparation, including drafting witness letters, witness lists, materials for briefing books for the Member, and pre- and post-hearing questions.      3) LAW CLERKS -

The positions offer undergraduate, graduate, recent graduates, medical students, law students, and recently graduated law students the virtual opportunity to gain substantive experience in a Senate office while participating directly in the legislative process. Intern and law clerk responsibilities include, but are not limited to: assisting Committee staff in performing office duties, conducting research, analyzing legislation, drafting memorandums, and assisting in hearing preparation. Interns and law clerks play a key role in the office and will work closely with senior policy advisors and counsels. HELP Committee:  The HELP Committee works on a wide range of issues in the areas of health, education, labor, disability, pensions, and oversight.
